The power of the TALKINGSTONE
revolving talking stones
Many cultures have used various objects over the centuries to allow their peoples the power and freedom to speak and be heard without fear of reprisal or humiliation.
When I started developing TALKING STONES, I felt that I could develop both a functional object plus a fine piece of sculpture. I believe that both the art and its meaning have been true from the beginning.
These powerful, yet fragile stones are used to teach the art of communication. Utilize them with children, at family gatherings, around the kitchen table, with that special loved one, or in large groups. The person holding the TALKING STONE may speak and should not be interrupted for any reason. The holder may speak for as long as they hold the stone. When finished, the speaker should gently pass the TALKING STONE to the next person to speak
Talkingstones represent only a small but yet important part of my portfolio. I am pleased to invite you to look at my other work which includes, marine life, abstract and just about anything else. I apologize for the site in its present condition but be assured that I am working with some of the best web masters on Salt Spring Island and hopefully this site will be up and running with a complete and up to date cross section of my work. I will be at the Salt Spring Saturday Market again this year and look forward to meeting both old and new clients from April through to the end of October.
